As the tale goes.....Irish Coffee has been drunk for 100 years, but the term came into play in the 1940's by a chef, Joe Sheridan, at the Shannon International Airport in Western Ireland.

On a miserable cold,winter night, weary and fatigued American travelers toddled into the cafe and dear Joe Sheridan added whiskey to the coffee to warm the passengers. The passengers thought they were being served Brazilian coffee, but Sheridan told them it was "Irish coffee". Thus the Irish Coffee Term was born.
